Tues. Apr 16 End of Life films presented by Mission Hospice at Senior Coastsiders 6:30 - 8:30 PM
The Oscar-nominated film Extremis documents the hard choices faced by people with loved ones in the ICU – and who would have benefited from earlier conversations with physicians and family. This was filmed at Oakland’s Highland Hospital and Dr. Jessica Zitter is the subject of the film.
Next, is a viewing of New Rules for End of Life Care, an award-winning film by Barbara Karnes, RN, who has spent more than 30 years as a hospice nurse, navigating end of life issues and experiences with thousands of families. Her clear, short, and easily understandable video about what happens at end of life is reassuring, and informative. The evening concludes with a Q&A with hospice staff.
Participation is free, but registration is required. For questions about the screening, please call Senior Coastsiders at 650.726.9056 or register here.
