Sue Eldredge/Executive Director has dedicated her career to nonprofit and philanthropic public service, including managing a successful youth development organization for over 20 years. Most recently, she has been a non-profit consultant focused on strategic planning, leadership transitions and scaling for growth. She brings her strengths in change management, collaboration, fundraising and team building to help shepherd an expanding VSMC poised to take on a bigger role for the benefit of its’ members and the larger VSMC community.

Role: Sue works closely with the Board of Directors and Village leaders to guide VSMC  to a sustainable organizational and leadership structure that ensures the evolution of the organization into a permanent community resource for the growing population of adults aging in place in San Mateo County. She is responsible for strategic organizational development, board engagement and stewardship, fund development, financial oversight, cultivation of community partnerships, and management collaberation with staff to ensure high-quality programs and impactful member and volunteer experiences.

Carol Crehan
 

Carol Crehan/ Volunteer Manager brings to VSMC an eclectic international background rooted in English language education, holding positions as a Teacher Trainer, English Faculty Member, Curriculum Writer, and Academic Director. Her service in the U.S. Dept. of State, the Peace Corps, and various university English programs have immersed her in overseas locations including: Sri Lanka, South Korea, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, Qatar, and Macau. She has worked with language learners from a myriad of professions from foreign diplomats to journalists. Carol has reinvented herself throughout her career having worked as a ghostwriter, editor, voiceover artist, college admissions consultant, and accreditation professional with expertise in language programs.

Role:  As Volunteer Manager, Carol’s focus is to help enhance VSMC’s volunteer recruitment efforts and to assist in implementing a dynamic training and volunteer support experience that will inspire a diverse, multi-talented, sustainable, volunteer force. Carol recognizes the importance of fostering a culture of volunteerism that necessitates capable leaders and attracts dedicated individuals committed to long-term service.

Cindy Georgette/ Social Events Manager brings to VSMC a wealth of experience from her successful career in recruiting and staffing for biotech, diagnostics and pharmaceutical companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. During her corporate tenure, Cindy cultivated strong relationships with academic departments and various professional organizations to promote job opportunities within her companies. Additionally, Cindy is actively involved with several volunteer organizations, and she plans to leverage this experience to enhance the social and community aspects of the Villages.

Role: Cindy works hand-in-hand with the Social Events Committee to increase the variety of social events available to build broader engagement and community connection among both members and volunteers.  She also takes the lead to find, educate and train volunteers who are interested in working specifically with our VSMC social events team. Cindy’s experience with networking and recruiting helps expand the visibility and awareness of VSMC in the communities it serves.

Cathy Conry/  Administrative Manager brings to the Villages of SMC a 21-year career of distinguished military service in the Air Force, Air National Guard, and Navy Reserves. She has also worked as a contractor for the U.S. government in the capacity of an Electrical Engineer as well as holding the position of Project Manager for several Air Force and Navy programs.   Additionally, Cathy has been integrally involved at the planning and project management level in a variety of key infrastructure and transportation projects that include:  Bay Area base closures, Caltrans FasTrak installation, and construction of the San Francisco Airport’s International Terminal.  She has been a resident of California for 37 years, and still counting…

Role: Cathy has been serving the Village of the Coastside for four years and has since expanded her purview to include the larger VSMC umbrella. Her administrative responsibilities and talents are varied and comprehensive and span crucial functions across the organization to include: communications, events/activities support, database maintenance, stewardship of the organization’s Document Library, website design/upkeep, scheduling of member service requests, and background vetting of both staff and volunteers.  Cathy leaves no stone unturned in the administrative arena.

Board of Directors

Patrick Brown/President has worked as a business skills trainer, COO, and in senior management positions in technical publications in the software industry. He serves on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations and brings a comprehensive view of valuable partnership opportunities.  Patrick’s experience enables him to provide valuable insight and guidance necessary to bridge the generation gap and help the Villages better utilize social media and communication platforms.



Dave

Dave McClure/Treasurer  is an experienced leader in both high tech companies and nonprofits as a CEO, CFO and board member. He is one of the founders of Villages of San Mateo County and has served as a board member, treasurer and volunteer from its inception. Dave has witnessed firsthand the importance of a caring community for older adults.

Monika Lee/Secretary has been a practicing attorney for a private law firm in the Bay Area since 1986 and is a dedicated advocate for the rights of older adults. She served as a volunteer for Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County and now is a member of its board of directors. She is current chair of the Senior Citizen Commission of the City of San Mateo, and also serves on the San Mateo County Commission on Aging.




Randi Kutnewsky
Randi Kutnewsky/ Sequoia Village Chair is retired from a high tech career and she currently volunteers with Villages and Healthy Cities Tutoring. Her leadership has resulted in more effective volunteer service delivery. Randi’s solid organizational skills combined with her innate desire to help others makes her an ideal Village Chair.

Eric Hanson/ Mid-Peninsula Village Chair has shared his leadership experience as well as hands on participation in volunteer orientation, community outreach and multiple essential member services.  Eric is a retired Vice President from Hewlett Packard Laboratories, where he led a research organization that explored and invented new techniques in 3D printing. He is a natural team builder who demonstrates analytical skills, and active listening.



Nancy Nadler Bio

 

Nancy Nadler/Village of the Coastside Chair retired from Leadership Coaching and Consulting, having over 30 years of Human Resources experience in various high-tech environments. She began her career in education and has non-profit experience in the areas of crisis intervention and conflict resolution. Nancy is an active participant in Village of the Coastside, leading the Events Committee and serving on the VSMC Board. She is also on the Board of Abundant Grace Coastside Worker in Half Moon Bay, and provides coaching, as part of a Volunteer Coaching Program to develop young leaders. Representing the Village, Nancy is also on the steering committee for the Judy Macias Young Leaders Scholarship program.


 Victoria Kline

Victoria Kline/Board began her career as a member of the Public Relations team for the Department of Airports at LAX, served as Development Director for the Stamford Museum & Nature Center and recently became retired as a Clinical Social Worker within the medical field.  Victoria has always had a powerful vision and passion for bringing people and community together. She was instrumental in the conception of the Outreach arm for the Village and the amazing Village team helped make it a reality. She is a strong believer in volunteerism and is actively involved in several other community nonprofits.





maureen Szostak

Maureen Szostak/Village of the Coastside and Volunteer Coordinator has a strong background in tax and fraud finance. She is a board member for Villages of San Mateo County and Coastside Hope, located in El Granada.  Maureen is very interested assuring that the aging population of the Coastside will have the ability to continue living on the Coastside.  Maureen lives in El Granada with her husband who is a commercial fisherman.

Irene Liana/Sequoia Village brings to her role as Volunteer Coordinator, 25+ years of experience in human resources management for large corporations and startups. Her passion to encourage others and equip those less fortunate with the tools needed to thrive was expressed through eight years in volunteer management at Bay Area Cancer Connections and three years as Rehab Director for Goodwill Industries. In addition Irene has 12 years of experience as a counselor/psychologist in the Massachusetts public sector.

Scott McMullin/Board is one of the founders of the Villages of San Mateo County and has worked in the development and operations of Villages of San Mateo County across the range of volunteer involvement and service delivery.  Scott’s extensive career as a senior quality assurance manager is reflected in his keen attention to detail and advocacy on behalf of our members. Scott embraces the opportunity to share his boundless energy and wide range of skills with Village members.
