Social Events Manager Job Opening
Villages of San Mateo County (VSMC) is seeking a twenty-hour a week Social Events Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of our social events program. This role will work collaboratively with volunteer leaders who manage social events in our three villages (Sequoia, Mid-Peninsula and Village of the Coastside).
The Social Events Manager is being hired to:
- Expand Social Events: increase the range and variety of social events we offer that build engagement and community and connection among our members. A priority is to include topics or events that emphasize safe and healthy living.
- Increase Engagement: develop social events that attract a wider range of our current village community and are of interest to future members and volunteers.
- Broaden Leadership: increase member and volunteer leadership and engagement in cultivating social events.
- Strengthen Administrative and Data Systems: ensure that the systems that support events and participation run efficiently and are well documented to support our volunteers to lead events.
Villages of San Mateo County (VSMC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and is part of a growing national movement of virtual villages across the county dedicated to mobilizing volunteers to support their senior neighbors to age with grace and dignity, maintaining their independence while continuing to live in their homes and the communities they love, and to stay socially connected and active within our VSMC community. We serve a large part of San Mateo County from San Bruno to Menlo Park, and from Pacifica to Pescadero.
20 hour a week position requiring a majority of time in our office in Redwood City and at events.
